Ronald R. Kaiser
Ronald R. Kaiser, age 44, of Platteville, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at his home of natural causes. He was born on February 2, 1968, in Lancaster, the son of Robert and Dolores (Elskamp) Kaiser. Ron graduated from Lancaster High School . He was employed at Southwest Opportunity Center . Ron enjoyed playing cards, especially Uno, bowling, watching wrestling and drinking Pepsi. He also enjoyed attending family gatherings and taking his nieces and nephews out for dinner.
Survivors include his sisters: Beth (George Martin) Kaiser, Platteville; Lois (William Schilling) Kaiser-Genthe, Verona; Debra (Gary) Curtis, Lancaster; Jane (Robert) Bloom, Bagley; nieces and nephews: Dustin and Benjamin Stanfley, Sheila Spurley, Tina Leibfried, Sara Fisher, Cory Curtis, Christina Tietjen, Kimberley Curtis, Alyssa, Sydney, Ty and Riley Bloom; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Miles Genthe.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 5:00 p.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville with Father William Seipp officiating. Private family burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Jean A. Kammerud
Jean A. Kammerud, age 59, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Jean was born in Lancaster on May16, 1952, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Gengler) Bennett.
On April 17, 1971 Jean married John Kammerud. They celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary this past April with many friends and family. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church. Jean was a familiar face at Dicks Supermarket, Lancaster, in the Meat Department for over 35 years. She was a very special person who enjoyed many things including fishing trips, gambling, Harley rides and spending time with family and friends the most. Jean was very dedicated to her family and never missed a family event.
Jean is survived by her loving husband John; daughter, Denise (Brian Janssen) Bausch; son, Dan (fianc Jen Taylor and her children, Brandi & Wesley) Kammerud all of Lancaster; a very special grandson, Braeden Bausch who loved his grammy dearly; three brothers: Don (Michelle) Bennett, Lancaster, David (Jacki) Bennett of Boscobel; Tim (fianc Louise Yoose) Bennett, Lancaster; two sisters: Barb (Butch) Dresen, Fennimore and Pat (Bill) Miles, Lancaster; brothers-in-law, Richard (Norma) Kammerud, Lancaster; Louie (Rachel) Wilkinson, Fennimore; along with many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Bennett, father and mother-in-law, Robert and Glenda Kammerud, a brother, Ed Bennett, a sister Katherine Wilkinson, a great-niece, Autumn Dresen, and a great-nephew, Andrew Bahl.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 3, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Alberta C. Kalinowski
Alberta Kalinowski, 89, of Lancaster , formerly of Mount Hope , passed away February 2, 2010, at Orchard Manor, Lancaster .
Services were at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Mount Hope Methodist Church , with the Rev. Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Hermitage Cemetery , Mount Hope . Friends called from 3 to 8 P.M., Friday, February 5, 2010 at Martin Funeral Home, Bloomington and also after 10:00 A.M. February 6, 2010 at the church.
She was born on March 31, 1920 in Giltner , Nebraska , the only daughter of Elliot and Rose (Oliver) Casler. Alberta attended Mount Hope High School for 2 years before moving back to Giltner , NE where she graduated high school. She was married to Erwin Howland who was killed in WWII in 1943. They had one daughter, Ivanelle June (Howland) Rice. Her family moved back to the Casler Homestead near Mount Hope in 1938. She worked as a switchboard operator as well as a waitress. She married Roman (Kelly) Kalinowski on July 18, 1944. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1966.
Alberta was a lifelong homemaker using her many talents as a seamstress and quilter for friends and family. Through necessity, her gardening and canning became an acquired skill which she passed down to her children. She was an avid sports fan that involved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the 14 Card Club of Mount Hope for many years. She looked forward each year to the annual family picnic and Christmas party.
She is survived by eight children, June Rice, of Platteville, Lois (LaVern) Bowen, of Lancaster, Pauline (Wayne) Clark, of Bagley, Karla (Dan) Meier, of Cross Plains, Joan (Jerry) Breuer, of Patch Grove, Loretta (Russ) Docken, of Verona, Michael (Carol) Kalinowski, of Bagley, James (Susan) Kalinowski, of Rosemount, MN.; 27 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roman Kalinowski, a daughter, Rose Ann Witzel, son-in-law, Ron Rice.
She will be remembered as a devoted mother and a loving and kind grandma.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Stader and Orchard Manor nursing staff for the wonderful care given to our mother.

Judith A. Karle, age 70, of Lancaster, died on Monday, July 5, 2010, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on September 22, 1939, in Grant County, the daughter of Paul and Emma (Gates) Hampton. Judy graduated from Bloomington High School in 1958. She then attended college, was married, and moved to Ohio. Judy returned to Grant County in 2002.
Survivors include her mother, Emma Hampton, Lancaster, and four daughters; her sister, Linda (Larry) Watchorn, Fennimore; her brothers: Paul "Mick" (Jeanne) Hampton, Dubuque, IA; Kristopher (Faye) Hampton, Cottage Grove; and many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Paul Hampton.
There was no services per Judy's request. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.
Doris E. Kartman
Doris E. Kartman, 95, of Lancaster, WI, entered God's eternal Kingdom on Sunday, May 26th, 2013 at the Lancaster Care Center. Doris was born May 12, 1918 in Steuben, WI, a daughter of George and Cora (O'Brien) LeGeune. She was married to Bernard Kartman and had two children. Doris's hobbies included golf, square dancing, & cooking and baking pies for church functions and potlucks. She enjoyed playing cards and calling bingo at the nursing home for decades, right up to a week before living there herself. Doris was a member of the Catholic Daughters organization for over 50 years. Doris devoted her life in service to her Catholic faith and volunteering at every place possible. She embodied the quote: "All those who can, do. Those who can do more, volunteer."
Doris is survived by two sisters, Marcella Fuscher and Hazel Crowley, Boscobel, WI; two children, Dean (Flo) Kartman, Pahrump, NV and LeGeune Kartman, Bayonne, NJ; two granddaughters, Christine (David) Hahn, Greenville, WI, and Toni (John) Cagiano, Kissimee, FL; and two great grandsons, Spencer and Blake Hahn, Greenville, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jack, Clyde and Cliff LeGeune; and two sisters, Helen Lostetter and Avonelle Glassbrenner.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Visitation was held at the church one hour prior to the time of service. Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster is assisting the family.

Lawrence Anicet Kartman, age 78, of
Potosi, passed away with his family by his side, on Saturday, December 20,
2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, IA. He was born
on November 23, 1936, the son of Donald and Camilla (Leibfried) Kartman.
Larry attended Burton Country School and was a graduate of Cassville
High School. He was united in marriage to Ruth Pennekamp
on October 27, 1964, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson.
Their marriage was blessed with four sons. In his
younger years, Larry enjoyed playing softball. He played
on numerous teams in the area. Larry never used a glove
and played bare handed. Larry purchased his first farm at
eighteen years of age. He was proud to be a farmer while
also working full time. Larrys first job after high
school was at Rock Wool in Lancaster working for Phil Downey.
He was employed for twenty-three years at Dubuque Packing Company.
Larry served on the Waterloo Township Board for many years.
He was an assessor for the township as well. Larry
was always on the go; he enjoyed going to auctions, socializing with Amish
friends and neighbors, and attending his grandchildrens activities.
He was his grandchildren's number one fan in all of their activities.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ruth; their
children: Mike (Jen) Kartman, Lancaster; Mark (Amy)
Kartman, Duane (Gina) Kartman, both of Cassville; Danny (Maggie) Kartman,
Fennimore; his beloved grandchildren: Tina, Logan, Ty,
Jared, Anna, Keira, and Koy; his great-grandchildren:
Kenzi, Jacie, and Bentley; his siblings: Roger (Donna)
Kartman, Cassville; Dinah Jo (LeRoy) Wilkinson, Polo, IL; numerous
brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and his faithful
companion, Libby.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death
by a brother, Richard; a grandson, Ryker; and several brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law.

Roger Kartman
Roger D. "Fuzzy" Kartman, age 78,
passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on March 22,
2016, in Cassville, due to complications after a brief battle with
pancreatic cancer. Roger was born on December 23, 1937, in Cassville, the
son of Donald and Camilla (Leibfried) Kartman. He graduated from Cassville
High School in 1956. He married Donna M. Niemer on June 16, 1959, at St.
Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Roger worked at John Deere Dubuque
Tractor Works for 30 years, retiring in 1995. Roger was a
3rd Degree Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus and
St. Charles Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing softball, baseball, bowling,
hunting, fishing, 4-H, and playing cards with friends.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Donna, their
children: Deborah (Ken) Metcalf, Kim (Trevor) Kubatzke, Susan (Dennis Leffel)
Kartman, Sandra (Mark) Wood, Jennifer (Greg) Van Natta, James (Nicole)
Kartman, and Angela (Jeff) Stauffacher, 17 grandchildren: Ashley (Spencer),
Andrea (Brian), Ali, Megan, Dustin, Tyler, Haley, Nic, Brooklyn, Jackson,
Ivy, Ian, Adi, Atticus, Austia, Alex, Ayla, and one great-grandchild, Kelsie,

Bonita Kasper
Bonita L. "Bonnie" Kasper, age 63, of
Cassville, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Orchard Manor
Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born on January 6, 1952, in
Mineral Point, the daughter of George and June (Martin) Eckstein.
Bonnie attended Cassville Schools. She was united in
marriage to Gary Kasper in 1970 in Prairie du Chien. In 1974,
the family moved to California. They returned to Cassville in
1986. Bonnie and Gary purchased BJ's Tavern in Cassville in
1989 and operated the bar until 2004. Bonnie sewed Barbie
doll clothing and sold Tupperware.
Survivors include her loving husband, Gary Kasper,
Cassville; her daughter, Brandi (Todd) Kasper-Thiesen, Cassville; two
grandchildren: Otto and Moria Kasper-Thiesen; her mother, June Eckstein,
Cassville; many nieces and nephews and members of the Kasper family.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her son, Jason in 1986; her
father, George Eckstein and her brother, David Eckstein.
Grave side services were held on Monday, October 5,
2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster with Pastor Mike

Doris L. Keene, age 78, of Potosi, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at her home. She was born on December 23, 1933, the daughter of Robert and Lauretta (McKelvey) Bartels. Doris graduated from Potosi High School and attended UW-Platteville. She was united in marriage to Walter Keene on March 26, 1953, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Doris was a lifetime member of the Davies Memorial United Church of Christ in Potosi. She enjoyed farming with her husband in rural Potosi.
Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Walter; their six daughters: Judy (David) Laufenberg, Cassville; Jane (Roger) Reed, Lancaster; Debra (James) Udelhoven, Fennimore; Patsy (Peter) Heberlein, Fennimore; Beth (Dwight) Kuster, Potosi; and Connie (Daniel) Cray, Potosi; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers: Vernon (Rita) Bartels; David (Betty) Bartels; two sisters-in-law: Ruth Kerkenbush and Joan Bartels.

Kristine M. Keene
Kristine "Kris" M. Keene, age 47, of Potosi, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 surrounded by her loving family at her home after a courageous six-week battle with cancer. She was born on January 12, 1963, the daughter of David R. and Ruth A. (Bohringer) Knoke in Lancaster. Kris graduatedfrom Lancaster High School in 1981. On October 10, 1981 she was united in marriage to Richard Keene, Jr. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Kris was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and Davies Memorial Church of Christ in Potosi.
Kris treasured working in the outdoors on the family farm side by side with her husband and family. She especially enjoyed all aspects of the cattle business: producing, showing, and selling quality cattle. She loved spending time with her family and cherished any opportunity to attend their sports and music events.
Kris is survived by her husband, Dick, Potosi; four children: Tabitha and Joseph, Madison; Rebecca "Reba" and Thomas, Potosi; her father, David Knoke, Lancaster; one sister and two brothers:Deb (Scott) Price, Galena, IL, Dave "Rob" Knoke; Hudson and Jim (Teri) Knoke, Lancaster; father and mother- in-law, Richard and Marlene Keene, Potosi; sisters-in-law: Peg (Bob) Miller, Lancaster; Carol (Jack) Hayes, Verona; Nancy (Pat) Adams, Potosi; Sheila Keene (Rick Wedig), Deforest; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth.

Shirley C. Keller, age 86, of Platteville,
formerly of Kenosha, died Monday, July 13, 2015, at Manor Care in Platteville,
with her family by her side. Shirley was born on March 5,
1929 in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of Clemons & Minnie (Meyer) Paasch.
She attended local area schools. Shirley married
LaVerne "Jack" Keller in 1947. They later divorced.
Shirley worked at Cooper's, now Jockey, and as a crossing guard.
She moved to Platteville in 1982. In Platteville she
bartended at Jobie's Tap and worked at Dick's Bakery.
Shirley is survived by a son, Terry (Nora) of Kenosha; her
grandchildren, Justin Keller of Kenosha, Vickie (Max) Mejia of Texas, Corinne
Keller of Longmont, CO, & Erin (John) Yates of Kenosha; great-grandchildren,
J.T. & Charlie Mejia, Gage Keller, and Troy & Grant Yates; a sister, June Keller
of Kenosha; a daughter-in-law, Rose Keller of Wild Rose; and several nieces,
nephews, and other relatives & friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry; her parents; a
brother, Donald; and a brother in infancy, Joseph.
Visitation was be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday,
July 16, 2015, at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville.
Private burial was in St. George Cemetery, Kenosha, WI, on July 17,

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a

February 6, 2016 at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville, with Rev. Jim
McMahon officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

Beverly Joyce Kelly, age 73, went home to be with the LORD November 2nd, 2013 at Orchard Manor, Lancaster, due to complications of Alzheimer's disease.

Beverly was born in Platteville, on March 28, 1940 to Albert Russell and Dorothy (Dean) Kolle. She had one sister Shirley Russell, three brothers Cletus (Tater) Russell, Albert Russell Jr., and Charles Russell. Bev attended schools in Platteville and Potosi where she met her first love Robert Elam Leppla and married March 30, 1956 at Davies Memorial Church of Christ in Potosi. They had five daughters: Lacinda, BeLinda, Glenda, Sonieca and Lisa. Then she married Phillip Lewandowski, born in marriage is one daughter, Victoria. Then married Vincent Kelly.
She worked as a nurse's aid at Orchard Manor, LCC, owned taverns in Platteville and Clinton, IA. where all enjoyed her friendship. She also worked as a security guard for Per Mar at the Cordova IL nuclear power plant.
Some of her favorite things included gardening, flowers, cooking for crowds, fishing, music, dancing and caring for others more unfortunate than she.
Survived by one brother Cletus "Tater" Russell, six daughters: Lacinda Leppla, BeLinda (Dennis) Thomas, Glenda Schoening, Sonieca Huebotter, Lisa (Bob) Sheehan, Victoria Lewandowski. Carol Kelly, age 61, of Potosi , passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison . She was born on January 14, 1949 , the daughter of Elmer and Harriet (Olson) Walters in Black River Falls , WI . Carol was united in marriage to William J. Kelly on May 29, 1971 .
Carol worked in Dickeyville at Valintine's Restaurant, which became Catina's Kitchen in 2010. She loved to play cards and go to Dubuque Casino.
Carol is survived by her husband, Bill, Potosi ; her daughter, Rita and her children: Jessica (21),William Jr. (21), Jacob (17) and Brandon (16); her son, Willie and his children: Evan (11), Ryan (9) and Erin (7); a brother, Elmer Jr., Lancaster and a sister, JoAnn, Tillamauke, OR

V. Kelly, age 41, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was born
December 29, 1974, the son of Thomas and Marlene (Reuter) Kelly. Jason
graduated from Potosi High School in 1992. He was employed at Flexsteel in
Dubuque, and most recently at Dyersville Die Cast in Dyersville, IA. Jason
enjoyed golfing, grilling out, and hockey games. He was an avid Dallas
Cowboys and University of Wisconsin Badgers football fan. Jason dearly loved
his children and keeping up with their activities.
Surviving is his father, Thomas Kelly; his mother,
Marlene (Rick) Allen; a son Elijah Kelly; two daughters, Taylor Vergiornt,
and Haley Kelly and her mother Stephanie Kelly; grandfather, Vernon Kelly;
sisters, Megan (Charles) Kinyon, Bobbi (Mike) Brown, and Betty Allen; an
uncle Allen Kelly, an aunt Diane (Keith Weber) Kelly, nieces, nephews, and
many members of the Reuter, Allen, and Wedig families.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Delores
Kelly and Gerald (Geraldine) Reuter.
In keeping with Jason's wishes, a private family
funeral and burial was held at Van Buren Cemetery. Family and friends
called on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Martin
Funeral Home in Potosi. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Jason V. Kelly

Kelly
Keith D. Kelly, age 66, of Bloomington, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at
Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. Keith was born on August 20, 1948 to
Cecil and Lucile (Gordon) Kelly. He attended West Central School and Area I.
After being drafted into the United States Army, Keith married Elaine Puffett.
Keith served one tour in Vietnam. After leaving the military, he worked various
jobs including many years at Exide in Manchester, Iowa. He enjoyed
spending time outdoors riding horses, sawing firewood, and gardening. He loved
dancing with Elaine and raising their children Amy and Ken. Elaine passed away
in 2003. Keith married Mikki Posten in Bloomington, Wisconsin, in 2008.
They resided in the country and spent many weeks each year traveling the western
states.
Keith is survived by his wife, Mikki; his daughter, Amy (Jeff) Grundmeyer; a
son, Ken (Carolina) Kelly; grandchildren: Jessica and Jonathan Grundmeyer,
Kirsten and Declan Kelly; his sisters: Marian (Lorenz) Behrens, Virginia (Jon)
Mitchell, and Judy (Bob) Rothlisberger; a brother, Gordon (Geraldine) Kelly;
Mikki's children: Monica (Ken) Hodgson; Pamela Posten; Robert (Karla) Posten;
many Posten grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine, and a

Mildred A. Kelly, age 84, of Dubuque, IA, died Saturday, August 20, 2011, at her home under the care of Hospice of Dubuque. Mildred was born on April 7, 1927, a daughter of George & Anna (Suhr) Hardy.
She married Melvin Kelly on March 26, 1947 in Lancaster, WI. Mildred was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and spending time outdoors.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Robert) Heiar, Dubuque; three grandchildren, Kevin (Tracy) Brockman, Washburn, IA, Mark (Shawn) Brockman, Dubuque, and Heather Brockman (Lee Foht), Dubuque; a step-grandchild, Jesse (Cathy) Heiar of Dubuque; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Martin, Lancaster; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin in 1993; her parents; two sisters, Marie Goke and Gladys Flesch; four brothers, Gordon, Harold, Donald, and Melvin Hardy.
Funeral Services were held at 11 am on Friday, August 26, 2011, at Martin Funeral Home in Potosi. Burial was in Van Buren Cemetery in Potosi. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Martin Funeral Home in Potosi, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Kelly-Posten, age 82, of La Crosse, formerly
of Bloomington, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted
Living in La Crosse. Mildred was born on September 15, 1934 in St.
Olaf, IA, the daughter of Alvin & Mabel (Hackert) Klinkenberg. She
graduated from St. Olaf School in 1951. Mildred married Lyle Posten in
July 1966 at the Prairie du Chien United Methodist Church. Lyle
preceded her in death in 2006. She was united in married to Keith
Kelly in 2008.
Mildred enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, and
traveling across the country in the RV.
Mildred is survived by her three children, Monica (Ken)
Hodgson, Pamela Posten, and Robert (Karla) Posten; five grandchildren;
thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives
& friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lyle
Posten; second husband, Keith Kelly; her parents; and her siblings, Caroline
Burns and Henry Klinkenberg.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday,
October 24, 2016 at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Bloomington, with
Reverend Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Graveside services were held
at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Union-Nagle Cemetery, Patch

Norbert E. Kelly
Norbert Edward Kelly, age 79, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday night, April 19, 2013, at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born on February 3, 1934, the son of Henry and Mathilda (Pink) Kelly.
Norbert loved to drive his Farmall H (1942), play cards, and spend time with friends and family. He farmed for many years until his move to town, upon which he was employed by the City of Lancaster for many more years. Norb touched people in a positive way that will not be forgotten.
Surviving are his daughters: Ann (Brian) Miesen, Platteville; Kim (Ray) Coleman, Verona; three grandsons: Chandler Miesen, Desmond Miesen and Hayden Coleman; his sisters, Ruth Fleming, Gays Mills and Kathleen Kelly, San Diego, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law.

Virgil
Kelly
Virgil L. Kelly, age 90, of Potosi, passed away on
Tuesday, November 11, 2014 surrounded by his family at Orchard Manor Nursing
Home, Lancaster.
Virgil was born on March 31, 1924, in Potosi, and is
the son of Leo and Esther (Richardson) Kelly. He attended a one room school
house in his youth and when he was 18 joined the military services and
served in WWII in the Marines. He served overseas until his honorable
discharge. He was very proud to be a United States Veteran. Upon completion
of his tour of duty, Virgil returned home and began work on the family farm
and as a mechanic. He married Irene Burns on July 26, 1947. Shortly after
marriage Virgil began a career with John Deere Tractor Works. Virgil worked
for John Deere for 35 years and retired in 1982 as the Dubuque Operations
Grounds Keeper Supervisor.
As a young man Virgil enjoyed stock car racing and
spending time behind the wheel on the racetrack as well as helping out the
pit crew for his team. Shortly after marriage Virgil and Irene purchased a
farm in Potosi and this is where they raised their family. Virgil enjoyed
being outside and all the activities the farm provided. Virgil was an
extremely talented man when it came to fixing things, especially when it
came to any farm machinery or vehicles. Virgil was a man with a great work
ethic and was passionate about instilling the value of work in his family.
Virgil and Irene worked hard to provide for their family throughout their
lives.
Surviving are six children: Bill Kelly, Linda
Worthington, Mike (Cindy) Kelly, Ronnie (Stephanie) Kelly all of Potosi,
Wisconsin; Tim (Sue) Kelly of Dubuque, Iowa, and Kathy Shemak of Dodgeville,
Wisconsin. He is also survived by his sister, Marge Maahs of Lancaster,
Wisconsin, and his brother, Vernon Kelly of Potosi, Wisconsin. In
addition, he is survived by brothers-in-law, Richard (Nola) Burns and
Delbert Schuster all of Lancaster, Wisconsin. Also surviving are 10
grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well
as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and
Esther; his wife, Irene and his siblings: Marie Pickel, Dave Kelly, Robert
Kelly and Marcella Pickel. He was also preceded in death by a
daughter-in-law, Carol Kelly and son-in-law, Pete Shemak.

Ethel L. Kemper
Ethel L. Kemper, age 89, of Lancaster, died on Sunday, October 24, 2010, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on March 5, 1921, in Lancaster, the daughter of Clyde and Marie (Quick) Aupperle. Ethel attended Aupperle Grade School and graduated from Lancaster High School. On February 10, 1940, Ethel was united in marriage to Louis Bud H. Kemper at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Lancaster area for over thirty years. Ethel was employed in Lancaster at the Budget Shop, Federated Store, Ben Franklin Store and the Downtown Inn. She was a volunteer for the Thrift Shop and dispatch for Grant County Taxi. Ethel was a member of the Bethlehem E&R Church and the Rebekah Lodge for over thirty years, holding many offices including Grand Noble. She dearly loved her family and kept in touch with her grandchildrens activities.
Survivors include her children: Judy (Neil) Eyers, Madison; Jane (Gary) Schneider, Lancaster; John (Sharon Slater) Kemper, Windsor; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Gene Stitch, Lancaster; a sister-in-law, Jean Aupperle, Dodgeville; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Susan Stitch, and a brother Dan Aupperle.

Todd James Kemps, age 43, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at his residence. He was born on April 13, 1967, in Marshfield, the son of James S. and Joanne (Beecher) Kemps. Todd graduated from St. Clement Catholic School and Lancaster High School. He also graduated from Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore with a degree in auto body. Upon moving to Jacksonville, FL, he furthered his education and received certification as an ASCE Master Mechanic. Todd was proud of his skills with motors of any kind. He was currently employed at North End Auto Wrecking in Dubuque, IA. He loved fishing, hunting, music, cooking and photography.
Survivors include his mother, Joanne Kemps, Lancaster; his brothers and sisters: Dawn (Greg) Miller, Rochester, MN; Scott (Deborah) Kemps, Satellite Beach, FL; Carla Liberio, Jacksonville, FL; Lee Ann (Marland) Bode, Dickeyville; Christopher (Raquel) Kemps, Jacksonville, FL; his maternal grandmother, Audrey Beecher, Lancaster; his paternal grandmother, Harriet Smits, DePere; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard L.
Kendall
Richard L. Kendall, age 76, of Bagley, died on Friday, November 11, 2011, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 23, 1935, in Bagley, the son of Emer and Marjorie (Clark) Kendall. Richard graduated from Bagley High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict stationed in Germany with the 371 Armored Infantry Battalion. Following his honorable discharge, Richard returned to Bagley and was a hired hand for local farmers. He also worked on the river on tow boats for a short time before he began his employment with the Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement in 1998. Richard was a member of the Liscum Brothers American Legion Post No. 482 of Bagley. He was an avid sports fan as well as an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Richard also enjoyed watching Hee-Haw and had a love for the Hee-Haw Honeys. He was a wonderful story teller and never had a shortage of stories to tell.
Survivors include his sons, Richard Kendall, Jr. and Homer Kendall, both of Bagley.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Kendall.

Alice P. Kerkenbush, age 65,
went to her eternal rest on Saturday, September 14, 2013, in her
home, surrounded by her family and friends, following a courageous
battle with cancer. She was born on December 14,
1947, in Hanover, IL, the daughter of Allan and Patricia (Drumm)
Caya. She attended school in Bagley, WI, Galena, IL, and graduated
from Potosi High School. She married Daniel
Kerkenbush on June 17, 1967, at St Andrew's Catholic Church in
Tennyson. She was employed at Mercy Medical Center as
a messenger and a pharmacy technician. She was an
extremely dedicated Potosi High School sports fan.
Alice was an amazing cook, one of the biggest Chieftain fans,
and enjoyed being the best grandma she could have ever been.
She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
Alice is survived by her husband, Dan, her
daughter, Geri Lynn (Scott) Leibfried, sons: Kevin, Troy
(Stephanie), and Nick (Becky), her grandchildren: Brett, Jenna,

Helen K. Kerkenbush, age 87, passed
away on Saturday August 16, 2014 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural
Lancaster. She was born February 17, 1927 the daughter of Roy and Josephine
(Kelly) Slater. Helen married Robert B. Kerkenbush on June 11, 1946.
Together on the family farm, Little Patch of Heaven, they raised their
family. The farm was honored as a Sesquicentennial Farm by the State of
Wisconsin in 1997. Helen enjoyed yard work, flowers, and cooking. One of her
other joys was the many family gatherings.
Surviving are her sons; Dan, Joe (Delores), Jerry (Tawna
Dickey) Kerkenbush, her daughters; Joyce (Justin) Weber, Janet (Kendle)
Bode, Judy (Terry) Fortmann, Joan (Dave) Klaas, 22 grandchildren, 43

Robert R. "Bob" Ketchum, age 59, of
Moulton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Des
Moines, Iowa. He was born on December 30, 1955, in Kenosha,
the son of Roland M. "Hermie" and Rosemary (Martin) Ketchum.
He attended school in Bloomington and Platteville and graduated from Platteville
High School in 1974. Upon graduation, Robert entered the
United States National Guard and served his country until his honorable
discharge in 1977. In 1980 he joined the Boilermakers of
local 107 in Milwaukee where he was a welder for 35 years.
Robert enjoyed nothing more than time with his children, grandchildren, family,
friends, and his dog, Blondie. When he retired, he threw out
his watch and calendar and spent all his days doing only the things he enjoyed:
traveling to his grandchildren's games, golfing, hunting, and fishing.
Robert brought laughter to every person he crossed paths with and was a
true blessing to every life he touched.

Mary E. Key, age 76, of Lancaster died on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born October 25, 1931 in Bloomington Township, WI; the daughter of Harold and Hilda (Bausch) Mason. In September of 1954, she married Nicholas A. Key in Prairie du Chien, WI. He preceded her in death in 1968. Mary lived a very simple life and her family was her top priority.
She is survived by six children: David (Edyie) Walther, Madison; Dennis (Cathy) Key, Madison; Rose (Mark) Key-Udelhofen, Lancaster; Patrick (Charlotte) Key, McFarland; Rhonda (Russell) Raeder, Prairie du Sac; and Mark Key, Marshall; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Jim (Marlys) Mason, Bagley; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas.

Rose M. Key
Rose M. Key, age 55, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on June 23, 1956, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Nick and Mary (Mason) Key. She was employed by Grant County in the Tax Listers Office. Rose enjoyed her time with family, especially her girls, Peyton, Taylor, Haley and Whitney. She loved camping, fishing, music, a good movie, and the Packers. Rose always put others ahead of herself. She was a mom to many.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Udelhofen; three children: Season (Brock) Hampton, Holly (Dan) Hampton, Justin (Becky) Hampton; two step-children: Cole (Kayla) Udelhofen, Kristin (Gabe) Smutz; five grandchildren: Peyton, Taylor, Haley, Whitney, and Alice; five siblings: David (Eydie) Walther, Dennis (Cathy) Key, Pat (Char) Key, Rhonda (Russell) Reader, Mark Key; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends was held on Friday, September 2, 2011, at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial and a celebration of life will be at a later date.
Burdette King
Burdette King, age 94, of
Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Lancaster
Care Center. He was born Walter Burdette King, on
the King family farm in Ellenboro Township on March 21, 1919 the son
of Ivan and Lydia (Day) King. Burdette attended Kingsford country
schoolhouse. He married the love of his life, Dorothy M. Bailie on
May 23, 1942 at the E&R Parsonage in Lancaster. Together they farmed
on the King family farm in Ellenboro Township, which was in the King
family for over one hundred and twenty years. He was a charter
member of the Southwest Regional High School Rodeo and West Grant
Saddle Club. Chairman of Ellenboro Township, member of the Busy
Badgers 4-H club, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Wisconsin
Registered Polled Herefords Association, and Bethlehem E&R Church.
Burdette enjoyed calling square dances, playing cards, fishing,
turkey hunting, deer hunting and going for a horse ride, but more
importantly, he loved keeping up with his family and their
activities.
Surviving are his daughters: Sheila (Kermit)
Sarver, and Peggy King; four grandchildren: Shane (Michele) Sarver,
Kolten (Allison) Sarver, Ivan (Jennie) Wilson and Jasmine Wilson;
Thirteen great-grandchildren, a sister in law Lucille Koeller and a
brother in law Roger Bailie, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his loving wife Dorothy,
Burdette was preceded in death by two sister in laws Beatrice
(Raymond) Grobstick and Virginia Bailie, and a brother in law Warren
Koeller.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March
18, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethlehem E&R Church in Lancaster,
with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Burial was in the Hillside
Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called on Monday, March 17, 2014 from
4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, and on
Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Dorothy M. King
Dorothy M. King, age 90, of Lancaster, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Lancaster Care Center. She was born on June 20, 1921, the daughter of Ralph and Hilda (Kasper) Bailie. Dorothy graduated from Lancaster High School in 1939. She was united in marriage to W. Burdette King on May 23, 1942, at the E&R Parsonage in Lancaster. Together they farmed on the King family farm in Ellenboro Township, which was in the King family for over one hundred and twenty years. She was a lifetime member of the Bethlehem E&R Church in Lancaster. Dorothy worked at Kinny and Urban Law Office and served as the Ellenboro Township Clerk. She enjoyed gardening, baking, reading, walking, dancing, and playing cards. Dorothy dearly loved her family and keeping up with their activities.
Survivors include her husband, Burdette; Lancaster; two daughters: Sheila (Kermit) Sarver, North Fort Myers, FL; Peggy King, Dubuque, IA; four grandchildren: Shane (Michele) Sarver; Kolten (Allison) Sarver; Ivan (Jennie) Wilson; and Jasmine Wilson; thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille (Warren) Koeller, Potosi; a brother, Roger Bailie, Prairie du Chien; many nieces and nephews.

Margaret Kinney
Margaret Kinney's warm and enduring legacy passed into history, Thursday, March 24, 2011. Mom had just recently celebrated her 92nd birthday.
Margaret Sims Murrish Kinney was born February 1, 1919 at St. Josephs Hospital, Dodgeville. Her childhood was spent on her parents small family farm that squatted atop a hillock in rolling, driftless Southwest Wisconsin, halfway between Dodgeville and Mineral Point. Her earliest Cornish relative in the area was a McMurrish who in the early 1820s was one of the first three miners to settle in what was later to become Mineral Point. They were the original Badgers, as they dug into the very hills they mined and lived there for shelter. As a child, on cold winter days, Moms beloved father Allie would harness his legendary horse, Jack, to the sled, put some warm bricks in it, and drive the girls (Margaret had three sisters) to their country school, then return at the end of the day to retrieve them. It was Jack whom Allie famously rode into town to court their mother, Jane Sims. Because their farm was several miles out of town, and thus a long jaunt in winter, they spent their weekdays boarding in Dodgeville, when the girls went into the later grades. The area at the time was still a tightly knit enclave of Cornish immigrants, including both of Margarets parents and virtually all their friends. Their Cornish ancestry was kept very much alive with the exchange of pasty and other home country recipes and the countless stories of their colorful and intrepid relatives.
Mom graduated from Plum Grove School in 1932; from Dodgeville High School in 1936, and from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in sociology in 1941. She met her husband-to-be, Patrick Kinney, on Bascom Hill in 1938. The evening they met, she saw this handsome young footballer who had played for the latter-day Badgers, and asked him to accompany her over the Hill as it was getting dark. A ruse that proved a winner and led to 60-plus years of marriage. Throughout her life Mom remained proud of the fact that she was the one who initiated the relationship. A scant few years later, Pat went into the Navy and served as a navigator on a mine sweeper in the War in the Pacific. When he returned, they moved to Lancaster to start a family and his career as a country lawyer. Their first home in Lancaster, where their first son, Tom, was born, was the then abandoned country club at the original city golf course, a one-room brick building with no electricity or running water. Margaret would hike down to the nearby spring to pull water and harvest watercress. They lived there for two years before moving to the west side of Lancaster. The lack of these essential comforts, taken for granted nowadays, posed no inconvenience for them as both had grown up in homes without running water or electricity.
The years that Dad served in the Navy, Pat and Margaret lived in the four corners of the US: first, Naval Officer School at Harvard; training, Palm Beach, FL; Seattle, where the ship was built on Bainbridge Island; and for the fitting out of the ship, Long Beach, CA.
As Mom had been a distant relative of Frank Lloyd Wright, she had introduced herself at Taliesin at the age of 17, and turned her connection into a summer job as an aide to Wrights sister Mrs. Jane Porter, always and only referred to by our family thereafter by the regal title, Mrs. Porter. Mrs. Porter mentored Margaret and it was in part due to Porters given name that Margarets first daughter, Jane, was named. Driving Mrs. Porters car (which she learned in Allies pastures) and running errands for her, Mom lived at Tan-y-deri on the grounds of Taliesin for three summers. In Margarets first year at Taliesin, Mrs. Porter and her brother were not on speaking terms. As Mrs. Porter said, You may be King of your hill, but I am Queen of mine. In subsequent years, Mrs. Porter and Mr. Wright restored their usual good relations, and Margaret would join the Porters and the Wrights on Sunday evenings in the living room of the Frank Lloyd Wright where they would play string quartets, have poetry readings, and other cultural exchanges.
She spent much of her time working with Mrs. Porters childrens theater, a project funded by the WPA recreation program. The WPA program largely was aimed at resuscitating ethnic folk dances and melodies from the early pioneers whod settled the area. This job with its hefty $5 per week (1936) wages and room and board helped her fund her way through college. She supplemented it during the school year by being a live-in maid in various homes in Madison while attending the UW. Mrs. Porter assisted Mom in helping her find her Madison jobs and introduced Margaret to Olgivanna Wright, Frank Lloyd Wrights wife, who tutored Mom on folk dances from her native Montinegro.
Years later, Margaret and her husband, Pat Kinney, went to Wright to see if he would design a house for a young couple who had no money to pay for his blueprint. Wright's usual approach then was to charge 10% of the final cost of the house for his design and despite their fiscal circumstance; he willingly agreed to do it. To save money, Pat and Margaret did all the groundwork. Pat mined the limestone from a distant quarry which he would travel to in a beat up 1949 black Ford pickup truck, often with his young son Tom in tow. Pat broke the large slabs of stone into barely manageable sizes armed only with a pick axe, 16 lb. sledge, and crowbar and rolled them end-over-end to the truck and somehow heaved the giant blocks onto the flatbed unassisted. Pat dug and backfilled the footings for the foundation while Margaret fed the stonemasons whom she housed in a boardinghouse near her sisters home. Because the masons couldnt read a blueprint, Pat came to the site every morning before going to work, read the prints and drew the line-strings for their work each day so the masons knew where to lay the great slabs of stone. The entire process took three years of backbreaking after-hours work for Pat and Margaret (who was badly injured when a limestone slab she was helping to remove from the pickup fell on her leg) and the final total cost of their classic prairie home was a beyond reasonable $15,000, which gave FLW a whopping fee of $1,500 for his design, about which he never uttered a mumbling word of complaint. Whatever you could say about FLWs ego, money was a distant secondary motivator. Thereafter, as owners of a Wright home, they attended as guests all major events held at Taliesin. Margaret remained friends with many who lived at Taliesin, including Cornelia Brierly and Charles and Minerva Montooth. When Pat and Margaret put an addition on to their home in the early 60s to accommodate their fourth child, David, it was scrupulously designed by their friend and FLWs assistant, Jack Howe, to conform to the original. Mom rarely missed the annual FLW Birthday party at Taliesin. Margaret was one of the few, and possibly the only remaining original Wright home owner in Wisconsin, and one of few in America. She had the rare honor of having it declared a registered landmark during her lifetime. Their home remained a great object of pride throughout their lives as was their love for all their children. Both were especially proud of their son, Tom, a writer and editor, their daughter, Jane, a florist and store owner, Anne, an astronomer inspired by her father who navigated his mine sweeper by the stars, and son, David, a teacher of English and Spanish. Although their home had originally been laughingly dubbed Ft. Ticonderoga by a local judge, due to its stone walls and fortress-like appearance, the town became accustomed to its unusual design and presence.
Despite growing up humbly in rural Wisconsin, her Cornish family had a brilliant history. Her aunt, Emily Sims, was the first woman to graduate from the UW school of economics in 1915 and went on to become a pioneering Red Cross spokesperson in New York City where she strove mightily and successfully to pass and implement women and children's labor protection laws. A recently discovered photo from the 50s shows Emily at an award ceremony in the company of Queen Elizabeth with a twitching Richard Nixon, then VPOTUS, bouncing around nervously in the background trying to get into the picture. Emilys sister, also Moms aunt, Mary Sims, worked as Confidential Secretary for Wisconsin governor F.E. McGovern as his girl Friday, and later moved to New York to join Emily where, after serving as secretary to the city budget chief in the NYC reform administration of Mayor Mitchell, Mary met and married Robert Moses, the city engineer who transformed NYC through his building of many of its major bridges and its futuristic highway system. Not to mention his work on the St. Lawrence Seaway and many park projects of great magnitude that his biographer, Robert Caro, in his Pulitzer prize-winning book, The Power Broker, compared as being in scope to those of Ramses III. Moses kindness to his country in-laws allowed Margaret and Pat and their family to visit New York frequently where Robert would make available his two-floor townhouse on Gracie Square opposite the Mayor's office, where he was a major player. During those visits, Moms country cousin family had front row tickets for hit Broadway shows, Yankee games, live TV shows, visits to museums, including the opening of FLWs Guggenheim, and a chauffer at their ready. Pat and Margaret were also often invited by Moses to attend gala events such as the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway.
In the early 70s Margaret returned to college and got her masters degree in social work and worked until her retirement at Lancaster Hospital. Throughout their lives, Pat and Margaret enjoyed enduring friendships with the Clarke Arnolds of Columbus (who also had an FLW home) and the Floyd Brynnelsons of Madison, both attorneys and pals from law school. Margaret was a 63-year member of Lancasters PEO association and had lengthy friendships with her dear friends Dorothy Weber and Betty Steinbrenner among many others. She networked with the local ladies, making no distinctions based on class or economic well-being, and often relived her farm roots with her many farm friends in the area.
She is survived by four children, Tom (Judi) Kinney, McFarland; Jane Kinney, Madison; Anne Kinney, Washington DC; David (Angela) Kinney, Madison; four grandchildren: Kelly Ann Kinney, Lindsay (Seth) Kinney Hartwick, Archie Kinney, Yasmine Kinney; one great-grandchild, Bruce Paul Kinney Hartwick; two sisters: Elizabeth Emery, Minneapolis, MN; and Patty Schleicher, Madison.
She was preceded in death by her dearly beloved husband, Patrick Kinney in 2004; her beloved sister, Mary Jane Brewer, and her parents, Jane and Albert Murrish, and relatives and friends beyond number.
The family would like to thank Grant County Hospice nurses Kim Leamy and Lori Walker, and friends, Rose Bryhan, and Barb Randall for their support and help during her last days and to neighbors and relatives, most especially, John and Pearl Hughes, for their loving care and attention over the years.

Brenda Ann Kipper, age 65, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas,
passed away, Tuesday, September 13th, 2016 at Baxter Regional Medical Center
in Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was born in Rockford, Illinois on February
16, 1951, a daughter of the late Frances Eileen (Nelson) and PaulCullen.
Brenda spent her life of Christian faith as a loving daughter, sister,
niece, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. During her working years she
was employed by Warner-Lambert in Rockford, IL and Advance Transformer in
Boscobel, WI. Among her many hobbies she loved her garden, planting
flowers, pulling weeds and going to yard sales and picking up furniture to
refinish. Brenda was united in marriage to Gerald L. Kipper on July 26, 1986
in Rockford, Illinois.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Kipper; daughter,
Sherrie Jones and friend Paul Loeffelholtz of Ridgeway, Wisconsin; son,
Shane Nicely and wife Melinda of Cuba City, Wisconsin; step sons, Dale
Kipper of Dodgeville, Wisconsin and Mark Kipper of Lancaster, Wisconsin;
brother, Steven Cullen of Globe, Arizona; aunt, Sharon Robinson of Rockford,
Illinois; five grandchildren, Michael and Addison Nicely and Andrew, Tyler
and Hannah Jones and step grandson, Brayden Kipper.

Dale Kirschbaum
Dale E. Kirschbaum, age 61, of
Dubuque, IA and formerly of Bloomington, WI, passed away Sunday, April 30,
2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. He was born July 12, 1955, the son
of Pete and Delores (Mumm) Kirschbaum. Dale graduated from Bloomington High
School 1973. He was employed at Tri County Structures and Bloomington
Produce - Kent Feeds. Dale drove gravel truck and travel buses, and was
currently employed at Keystone Automotive and as carrier for the Dubuque
Telegraph Herald. He enjoyed softball, golf, travel, and gambling. Dale was
an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Bears and New York Yankees. He
dearly loved spending time with his children and his three grandsons, Jude,
Luke, and Eli.
Surviving are his daughter Candice (Eric) Buss, his son
Tom (fiancee' Kristina Pintz) Kirschbaum, three grandsons; Jude, Luke, and
Eli Buss; his parents, Pete and Delores Kirschbaum, siblings; Alan (Ann)
Kirschbaum, Martin (Janet) Kirschbaum, and Janet (Rod) Kinyon; his former
wife, Terri Redman; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Donald Kirschbaum
Donald P. Kirschbaum, age 81, of
Dickeyville, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, surrounded by his
loving family. He was born on May 16, 1934, the son of
Albert and Rosella (Breuer) Kirschbaum. Donald graduated
from Bloomington High School and attended Rockford Business College.
On May 4, 1954, he married Bernadine R. Voss at St. Patrick's
Catholic Church, in Monona, IA. Together they farmed in
Glen Haven. Donald later drove school bus, worked at John
Deere Dubuque Tractor Works, hauled gas for Iowa Oil Company and Cenex.
Donald and Bernadine also were the house parents for a group home in
Platteville. He enjoyed wood working, puzzles, and riding
his John Deere mower.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years,
Bernadine; their children: Kathy Perry; Debbie Smith;
Marcia Kirschbaum; Brian (Wanda) Kirschbaum; Joleen (Rich) Oyen; Steve
(Sarah Dunn); Roger (Janet) Kirschbaum; 17 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Mergen; honorary daughter, Lisa Peters;
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Steven P. "Ted" Kirschbaum, age 63, of
Cassville, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2017, at Grant Regional Health
Center, Lancaster, with his family by his side. He was born on May 18, 1954,
in Prairie du Chien, the son of Paul and Minnie (Havill) Kirschbaum. Steven
attended Cassville High School. He was united in marriage to Suzanne "Suzie"
U'Ren on August 19, 1972, in Cassville. Steven worked for many years as a
Crane Operator and Foreman at Cassville River Terminal and as a
self-employed house painter. He was an avid Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay
Packers fan. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Steven
enjoyed going to McCartney Corners and J&J's Sandbar to play cards and
socialize.
He is survived by his loving wife Suzie; their
children: Amy (Mark) Kartman and Steven (Carrie) Kirschbaum all of
Cassville; his beloved grandchildren: Tina (Josh), Josh, Logan, Jared,
Madison, Kiefer, and Giada; his great-grandchildren: Kenzi, Jacie, and
Bentley. He is further survived by siblings: Carol (Jerry) Graves of Monroe,
David Kirschbaum of Dubuque; sisters-in-law: Sandra Carey of Cassville and
Dottie U'Ren of Hokah, along with many nieces and nephews. He also leaves
behind his dog, Amos.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents, father and
mother-in-law, Robert and Inez U'Ren, granddaughter, Abbie Kirschbaum,
infant brother, Paul Kirschbaum, brothers-in-law: Ray Carey and John U'Ren,
sister-in-law, Lynnette U'Ren, and nephews: Scott Graves and Jay Carey.

Elizabeth Lu "Betsy" Kittoe passed away
September 3, 2015 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster, WI. Betsy was a
wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to hundreds. Her
overwhelming, outgoing, all-inclusive, friendly demeanor, gentle nature, and
eternal optimism will be missed by her children Jordane, Sydney, and Brooks, her
grandson, Cobus, and her husband of 37 years, Mike.
Betsy was born in Madison to June Anne and John Joseph
Brunner. She lived her early years in Black Earth and Mazomanie, until the
Brunner family moved to Potosi when she was 4. Her dad bought the home town
grocery store and the store became a major part of Betsy's life. Like most of
her siblings, Betsy began helping at the store at an early age greeting all who
entered with a bright, cheerful smile and welcoming "hello." She fell in love
and married Michael Joseph Kittoe and together they eventually took over
ownership of the store. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and simple
demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her gift of joy, shown through
her constant smiling, laughter, and positive attitude, will never be forgotten.
Betsy was a familiar face around the community sporting her signature walk while
making her way around the Potosi "block." Betsy loved supporting the Badgers,
Packers, Brewers, and Potosi Chieftains. She especially took pride in watching
her own much-decorated children, never missing a game. She married an avid
fisherman, and Betsy treasured spending relaxing Sundays on the river with her
friends and family while enjoying a glass of Asti. She appreciated music in all
aspects, especially singing with her sisters and dancing with Mike. Most
recently, Betsy cherished the time she shared with her grandson, Cobus. Grammie
never missed an opportunity to hug, kiss, snuggle, or spoil him.
Betsy is survived by her devoted husband, Mike, and their
three children Jordane, Sydney, and Brooks; 1 grandson; 7 sisters, 3 brothers,
and their spouses and children; her husband's siblings and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her
parents-in-law, Merlin and Betty Kittoe; her niece, Stacy Brown, and nephew,
Adame Brunner.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday,
September 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Potosi with
Father Richard Leffler officiating. Private family burial
was in St. Thomas Cemetery, Potosi. Visitation for family
and friends was held on Monday, September 7, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the
family wishes any memorials given in Betsy's name be directed to The UW Carbone
Cancer Center. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Potosi
is assisting the family.
